In Seattle Megumi Preschool's music class, children sing seasonal, familiar Japanese children’s songs. Also, we use new children’s songs and songs with hand movements to help them remember many songs. In addition, we try to help them to improve Japanese vocabulary by singing Japanese songs. Other than singing children’s songs, we use a rhythmic method which develops sense of rhythm and pitch in order to bring out creativity and make music more interesting for children.

Therefore, we set the annual goal to improve children’s concentration, reaction, reflection, intuition and memory and prepare an age-appropriate rhythmic program.
Also, we use musical instruments help them to feel sympathetic to music and have joyful feelings though building up one thing as a group.

In summary, the goal of our music program is to make children interested in music naturally and help them improve Japanese vocabulary.
